"PKNA" gets an official English translation under the name "Duck Avenger"

But I guess a lot of you already knew that, huh? And here I was all excited to blow your minds with this piece of news. But in the case that there are some of you that don't know anything, I'm going to make a post about it out of obligation.

So in recent times, it looks like we have really stuck with the name "Duck Avenger".

Also looks like we won't be getting those awesome double spread covers, but at least we're halfway there. You also get some variant options, so I'll be content with that.

Here's some pages you would want to go to to get all the info...

It's a good sign that the translator, Jonathan H. Gray, appears to be really into the project and pushed for it to come into fruition in the first place. I wish him the best of luck into doing the duck justice. I do hope we will also get those short bonus stories... But if anyone has any questions regarding the whole thing, you can go ask him on his Twitter.

Now then... I hope you all realize that I will have to start removing all those old translations as soon as the project gets fully going. And I do hope, as the fans that you are, that you will support this so that it can keep on going. Despite all the physical copies I own, I will totally be buying once it's released. Don't worry, I'm not pointing a gun at your head. I do realize that not everyone is financially stable.

Hopefully the popularity will increase by a high multiplier, and we could potentially have a properly sized fanbase. Here's to the future and all that is to come.

  1. I'm pretty sure, that this will have a high multiplear! It's surely funny to compare yours with them from Jonathan H. Gray. And I'll buy them, although I have the german ones! But will you keep making translations of PKNE? And, will you now continue your series of revues?

    1. Of course, PKNE will continue. Even if they did plan to do those stories in the future, it would take a while for them to catch up.

Well, with so little to do now, I might consider bringing back those posts the blog was originally about.

    2. Or you should do more stuff like this?!

    3. I will certainly give updates on PK related news.

    4. Wasn't those already translated to english long time ago? At least some of them. Also have the Duck Avenger origin story ever been published in America?

    5. Only the first 12 issues of the reboot were ever translated. And the origin story was published just last year.

    6. Say, Banker... Are you going to keep your Motion Comics up on YouTube?

    7. Oh yeah, those things are going to be quite dated eventually, huh. I guess I'll keep them up untill someone tells me otherwise. Maybe I ought to remake them when more accurat text is released.

    8. Truth to tell, i'm little upset you didn't make trauma / mekkano motion comics. Or 'the end?'
'cause i'm quite sure those issues will never be translated to My Language, and your motion comics are only way i can read (or should i say 'watch'?) Pk- stories.

  2. Ok, count me in. As long as they ship to Europe, I'll buy it :D (or I'll ask my local comic book shop...)

One thing I don't quite understand is why some Italian fans seem to have a problem with the name Duck Avenger. Just because you can't abbreviate it to PK? Come on... You can't do that with most of the other names of the character outside of Italy... (and as we know, it's been his English name for quite a while, despite all confusion)

Oh, and I'd love to see a continuation of the original posts ;)

  3. I sure hope this will finally bring those stories into Brazil. It's been too long! Until then, time for me to start downloading all the PNKA comics that haven't yet been officially released in Brazil. I'll be sure to delete them as the official products arrive here, because I intend to support this comic to the bitter end!

Oh, and I totally support the idea of the return of Bankin' posts.

  4. I hope, against all odds, that the translations will make it to Finland - or at least Europe- Overseas shipping often costs an arm and a leg, I really can't afford that right now.

Anyway, great news. Maybe PKNA will finally get the international recognition it deserves. I kinda doubt it, though, it's too niche for markets outside Italy, and the preconceptions about Disney's duck comics sit deep.

  5. THANK YOU BANKER :D

    Seriosly, I had no idea.

  6. Hey Banker, guess what, 3 days ago a new LTB Premium was released in Germany containing all remaining stories (except the short stories) of MMMM. This means that aside from the short stories, MMMM is fully released in Germany. Great stuff.

  7. We aren't really lucky either, because we get the stories in an awful way: too small size, too bad paper, no covers, no short stories, more typos than you can count, and so on.

  8. I downloaded one of pk- comics (from this site) but i can't open it.

    1. You need to download a programme that can read .cbr-files. just search for "open cbr files" and download the programme that convinces you the most.

    1. Only a short story, though. Not really worth working on right now, but there will be more of these stories released over the coming weeks.

    1. It is supposed to be Lyla Lee according to translator, so little bit of a typo there, I guess.

  11. Good news, folks :) Artibani has just started with his next PK story and he already revealed the title: "The mark of Moldrock". Source: his Facebook page. I'm a bit excited. Knowing that in this very moment the story is taking shape is making me so happy...^^

  12. So recently I got myself a copy of the Mickey Mystery hardcover comic that was recently released in Brazil, and it's not too bad. It contains the first six main stories, but sadly, none of the bonus ones. Considering that the comic consisted of 12 issues, I sincerely hope they'll release the latter six here at some point, though I find it unlikely, as the comic itself isn't labeled "Vol. 1" or anything of the sort.

  13. Seems a lot of people here really love Mickey Mystery Magazine or whatever is called. I know the main story was translated into English by someone as I have seen the scans but I don't know if all of it was translated.
