Duck Avenger Launch

Well, it happened yesterday, and the first issue of Duck Avenger is now available for purchase, in stores and online. I'm still waiting for my copy to get here.

I'm getting that PK Giant variant of the cover.

Having not gotten to read it yet, I can't tell you how faithful of an adaption this is, though I already feel somewhat worried with some changes ordered by the higher-ups for whatever reason. In the meantime, you can look at this short preview, though as said, there's more to look at than to read.

So if you've got some extra cash on the side, why don't you show a little support? Shouldn't be hard to find methods of getting this. That shipping cost, though...

Here, have some fanservice by Claudio. Still waiting for that new PKNE he's involved in.

  1. Changes? You mean in the translation, then? Because I understood this to be an English launch of the old PKNA line, so unless they're doing something crazy like changing artwork around, I'm assuming there is a limit to how many changes they can make to the actual plot?

    1. Yes, in the translation. What I noticed in the preview was how it said that the Xerba invasion took place "possibly centuries ago", although it was nowhere that long ago.

  2. Thanks for the heads up! Have you asked Gray about those changes you noticed btw?

  3. My copy arrived today :D I didn't have the time to read it completely yet, but finally I know Paperilla Starry's official English name... (it's Saxony Starbright in case you wondered)
Luckily my local comic book store is going to provide me with all of the following issues so I don't have to order on ebay anymore.

Btw, I'd guess not keeping the denotation 'coolflames' was not Gray's decision either, was it?

  4. If something were to happen, such as heavy changes/mistranslations or a cancellation, would you consider restoring the download links?

  5. Well, despite not being as good as the original, is still nice to see an official release in English.

  6. So! It looks like IDW will publish this in a bi-monthly basis. That means they will take their sweet time catching up with the contuinity considering all the issues, specials, PK2 and New Era, that means YEARS! And that if they don't get cancelled, anyway! It's good to have an official translation

    1. Well, if it sells well enough maybe they will do double issues? As in, sell two issues in one?

So those that have the cash please buy the comics.

Also this makes me wonder how print comics will finally make the jump to digital media because so far I am not impressed.

Sell you a Pdf file on Amazon?

Interactive click on comics? While fun those require extra effort.

Unlike Newspapers that are being replaced by news websites, it looks like print comics still have no idea.

Granted the young market, as in young kids, still go for print comics cause they full of color and pretty.

But as kids getting digital at a very young age, like four or five, that won't last.

Or maybe not, most kids get into the Internet using cell phones worldwide; and the screens are just too darn small.

Until even the cheapest tablet includes the option to insert cell phone chips so they can use mobile Internet print comics for kids will still be popular cause they are big.

  7. Are you going to delete motion comics, if they get offical translations?
I hope not ("Metamorphosis" is My favourite)……………
